A Variety of machines to meet your process and budget requirements

Our side by side take-ups deliver high quality winding with a compact use of floor space. Available in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 reel versions, these machines feature automatic reel transfer, tangential product feeding, overwind/underwind operation, sample strip cutting, and non-contact loop control. Most of our side by side models require paper interleaf, but some are available without paper interleaf.

Reliable and Repeatable Winding Quality

Winding quality for industrial products depends largely on the right combination of product feed system, product tension control, and/or paper tension control. The ACS sales engineers will evaluate your product and recommend the best combination of features.

Time-tested designs

Indexing take-ups operate with all spindles in the same vertical or horizontal index plane. When a reel is full, the machine indexes, and an empty reel moves into the fill position. Available in 3, 4, and 8 reel versions, these machines feature automatic reel transfer and various styles of product feeding. Options available include paper interleaf, overwind / underwind operation, and sample strip cut.

Easy access for paper and product reel changes

Our paper and product spindles are positioned for easy use by the operator. Our indexing models include easy access to all spindles from the front or side. On our side-by-side models, each set of product and paper spindles is mounted on a slide that moves out for loading and unloading.

Our machine fits in your process

ACS designs machines and control systems that integrate smoothly with your manufacturing process. For our automatic take-ups, this includes a circuit that disables the process and sounds an alarm when operator attention is required. If requested, we can also customize our machines to use your plant standard electrical switches, and PLCs.

Simple operation

Machine controls allow you to switch between manual and automatic operation, to change spindle direction, and to switch between payout and takeup operation. If you have additional control requests, we typically add them as machine options.

Speed and tension controls that meet your process requirements

ACS offers several Speed and Tension control options for you to choose from. Our standard design is a product dancer with adjustable tension slide weight. The dancer automatically adjusts the spindle speed to match the speed of your process. We also offer Non-contact (touchless) loop control systems, like ultrasonic sensors, part/length count, capacitive sensors, or a speed input signal from your process.

Paper interleaf capability

For products with a layer of paper interleaf, we will add a paper spindle with its own speed and tension controls.
